Something really funny is that I watched this video like 6 months ago to help me with a weanling that looked and behaved just like the one in this video (LIKE THEY'RE NEARLY IDENTICAL) and now she's a well-behaved member of society most of the time.

Horses only know what we teach them, they arnt born knowing what is expected of them. That horse wasnt reachijg to bite, it was an investgatie behaviour. I don't agree with barrel racing. Good quality, high bred and very expensive horses playing a GAME. But I appreciate that you have a method to this madness. I think you could take your horse and go do something else with your horse because you have put a lot of quality training in him. I think if a horse is trained with the Basic Handle he can do anything you would ever need him to do. Good work.

YES! Western saddles make me crazy because the makers rarely if ever stamp them with measurements so it is a guessing game, or trying to measure a tree on a completed saddle on the shelf which is difficult.

It is not possible to "De-Sensitize" a horse. What you can do and what this video really shows is an example of some ways to do "EXPOSURE THEAPY" The real goal is too reduce the fear level of a horse while making sure it is still: Accepting, Aware of and Engaged in it's environment. Some may think this is parsing words but it is in reality a different way of thinking about educating horses and not making them DULL to what around them.

I'm sorry, but you have absolutely no clue about pressure and the proper release of the pressure. "The harder they fight the quicker they learn"... are you kidding??!!! Terrible for the baby horse.

I had my nose broken when I was 12 from having my head over the horse's as I went to halter them. To this day I'm careful, but just last night I got bitten HARD in the back... after my inner voice told me not to have my back to this mare's head while brushing mud off her belly. Another lesson learned... when you know better, act better, don't just ignore that inner voice! 😂 Complacency is what gets us!

I don't like to post negative comments but you should not be allowed anywhere near a horse/colt. Your videos are up there in the worst horses trainers ever category. Please stop and learn some gentler methods.

So you know better than to do these things but you are doing them anyway.... Your horse isn't anywhere near ready to perform that maneuver. Your hands need to be educated they are horrific. I don't like saying this to people but I had to on this one especially you making a public video of it.

It wouldn't or shouldn't be hard to watch. It's the way you are going about it that makes it that way. There are better ways to present this to a horse and teach him without putting him in that position to fight, die or give in. There is a difference between doing things for a horse and doing things to them.

As soon as a "trainer" hits the horse it's over. DO. NOT. HIT. YOUR. HORSE! Or any animal for that matter. It's not training, it's just pure abuse.
